All change begins with you, right here, right now!

I am a Gynaecologist Obstetrician ( MD, DNB OBGYN )with an emphasis on INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE.

CHANGE YOUR LIFE IN 5 EASY STEPS:

Are you tired of trying various medications and supplements, but still you aren’t feeling any better? Or maybe the medication seems to work for a little while, and after sometime you bounce back where you started.

It’s been proven by Medical Research time and again that lifestyle hacks, changing habits, mental emotional healing can work better and last longer than medication. I hope that if you are reading this blog, you are feeling pretty motivated to make some changes in your life at this point…

If you can’t wait to feel better here are some things you can do right now, today to get started….I am going to tell you 5 changes you can put into motion immediately that can quickly start making you feel better so that you can begin to change your life.

1. Start with gratitude.

I know I sound like a broken record when I talk about this one but this is great exercise for restoring positive energy around you. If you want to take only one thing from my work it will be gratitude. I highly recommend gratitude journaling .Just make a list of few things for which you are grateful. Start with basic things …it can be the food on your plate, roof on your head, loving family or friends, or may be your current state of mind. You can start by being thankful that you have decided to take charge of your health! Appreciate yourself for finding the strength to make these changes for yourself…

2. Get some movement.

I am not telling you to do one exercise in particular. The important thing is to just get your body moving. Your lymphatic system needs to move and it doesn’t have a heart to pump. It depends on movement. Doing something you love is the most important thing …dance class or yoga or simply going for a walk and getting some fresh air. Movement stimulates your brain to produce Oxytocin which is a mood boosting hormone that will help you feel positive, motivated and happier.  Want to know your Oxytocin score? Take my quiz now.

3. Make some dietary changes.

Try to eat the way the nature intended according to seasons. Nature gave us different foods according to season and this is not a coincidence. Nature is trying to provide for us what is best for our bodies. Eating local seasonal foods preferably organic will help. Reducing dairy and processed, GMO foods which may be high in extra hormones can help detox the body.  For those of us with gluten intolerance, wheat is another culprit in symptoms like bloating gas diarrhoea and constipation and getting these things out of your system will make a huge difference in how you feel. 4. Embrace your feminine energy:

Men are from Mars women are from Venus. As women, we are different from men, our hormones are different, our brains are wired differently and our physiology is completely different. We have a 28 to 30 day rhythm in our menstrual cycle .Honoring your needs and living and alignment with your menstrual cycle is the highest form of self love in my humble opinion. We don’t have to be like men in order to succeed in this world. The biggest act or our generation could be to honour who we are! Tapping into the intelligence of the female body and responding to its unique needs is a huge act of personal care. Not only can it reduce frustrating period symptoms but it also optimizes our energy levels and balances our moods so we don’t have to dread that time of the month, but rather appreciate its wisdom. A diet based around whole, plant-based foods, quality proteins and healthy fats is a good foundation, and include some of these cycle-supporting foods each week to help with hormone harmony.

5. Detoxify excess oestrogen:

I have been seeing so many clients with oestrogen dominance that I wanted to say this. Detoxifying excess oestrogen is the key to deal with PMS, PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis and some of the above dietary changes are helpful in doing that. Some additional steps can be …including some flaxseed to your diet, increasing your fibre intake, adding omega 3 fatty acids and green leafy vegetables which are great for liver function. Including cruciferous vegetables which contain indole 3 carbinol helps to metabolize excess oestrogen.

These five steps I have outlined for you will get you started on your path towards a healthy mind and body. Key is not to feel overwhelmed but do the simple steps first and they will get you motivated towards walking on the more complicated ones.

Remember that you have already done the biggest and most important step …You have DECIDED to take charge of your health and life!  Congratulations on that accomplishment and good luck on the next stage of your journey

Cheers to all the mothers!

Love
