REVERSING THYROID DISEASE WITH TRUHEALING PROTOCOL

Hi! I am Dr. Disha, MD, DNB, OBGYN. I am a women's health expert.  I work with women dealing with all sorts of underlying conditions, like blood sugar issues, insulin resistance, diabetes, PCOS, autoimmune disease, and thyroid disease. I've written extensively about how my SHE-TO METHOD diet and lifestyle program can help with period problems, insulin resistance, weight loss, acne, and other issues. But I haven't discussed how it can support women with thyroid disease.

I know there's some confusion out there about whether a ketogenic diet can help or hurt symptoms of thyroid disease. And since my SHE-TO method includes a ketogenic element, I wanted to clarify that.

So, should a woman with thyroid disease try my SHE-TO program? In short, yes! But of course, it's always important to talk to your doctor about any changes to your diet. They know your medical history and current health status best. But ultimately, you're in charge of your health!

The good news is that I've seen great results in my practice with women with pre-existing thyroid issues. And the research supports every element of my program, which is why I believe it's a better solution for most women, especially those with an underlying condition like thyroid disease, than a standard ketogenic diet.

When it comes to helping women with hormone imbalances and underlying conditions, I've found that my SHE-TO METHOD program can be incredibly effective. One of the most significant issues I see among my clients is thyroid disease, which can cause all sorts of symptoms and make it hard to feel your best.

I know that there's a lot of conflicting information about the impact of a ketogenic diet on thyroid health. But I want to clarify and explain why my program differs from a standard ketogenic diet.

First, it's always important to talk to your doctor before making any dietary changes. They know your medical history and current health status better than anyone and can advise you on the best approach.

With that said, I've had great success in my practice with women with pre-existing thyroid issues. And the research supports every element of my program, which is why I believe it's a better solution for most women, especially those with an underlying condition like thyroid disease.

So, if you're a woman with thyroid disease, I'd say that my SHE-TO METHOD program is worth a try. Of course, you should always talk to your doctor first. But I believe you can start feeling better and achieving your health goals with the proper support and guidance.

"She-TO" - A Healthier Approach to the Ketogenic Diet for Women

The traditional ketogenic diet consists of 5-8% carbs, 15-25% protein, and 70-80% fat. This macronutrient breakdown is usually achieved through restricting carbs and increasing fat in your diet. The ketogenic diet may also include aspects of intermittent fastings, like extending time between dinner and breakfast or not eating every other day.

What is the CONVENTIONAL Ketogenic Diet?

Are you familiar with the ketogenic diet? If not, let me give you a quick rundown. The keto diet is about weight loss and improved health through eating low carbs, moderate protein, and high fat. The idea is that by drastically reducing your carb intake, your body goes into a metabolic state called ketosis, which uses stored fat instead of glucose from carbs. This leads to weight loss and reduced insulin resistance and can improve brain health, reduce seizures and even fight cancer.

However, the traditional ketogenic diet doesn't always provide women with the support they need to feel healthy and maintain this lifestyle over the long term. That's where my "She-TO" program comes in.

Why a Typical Keto Diet May Not be BEST for Women

Women have unique hormonal imbalance and factors that can affect their ability to maintain balance. A traditional ketogenic diet may not provide the gut healing, adrenal support, and hormone balance many women need to feel healthy. It also may not have an anti-inflammatory effect over time and lack interventions for overall hormone balance.

What is the "She-TO" Program?

The "She-TO" program is my approach to the ketogenic diet specifically designed for women. My program goes beyond just the diet and includes lifestyle interventions such as stress management, sleep improvement, gut dysfunction support, and reducing toxicity. This comprehensive approach ensures that women receive the support they need to feel healthy and maintain their health over the long term.

How Does the "She-TO" Program Differ from the Keto Diet?

While the "She-TO" program does include a low-carb, high-fat diet, it also focuses on lifestyle changes to support overall health and hormone balance. The program includes interventions for stress management, sleep improvement, gut dysfunction support, and reducing toxicity, which are often lacking in traditional ketogenic diets.

The "She-TO" program offers a healthier approach to the ketogenic diet by incorporating lifestyle changes that support overall health and hormone balance.

The SHE-TO Diet and Lifestyle Program - A Unique Approach to how women should approach Keto!

Ketogenic diets have recently gained popularity as a weight loss solution, but they aren't without challenges. The SHE-TO diet and lifestyle program is a modified version of the standard ketogenic diet specifically designed for women. It includes a similar dietary component and form of intermittent fasting that has been proven safe and effective. It incorporates several key differences that make the diet more thyroid-friendly and accessible for women.

One of the key differences between the SHE-TO program and typical ketogenic diets is the approach to diet and lifestyle changes. Women participating in the program are not simply thrown into a ketogenic diet from day one. Instead, they focus on building a healthy foundation first.

This foundation includes an alkaline diet and lifestyle, removing inflammatory food sensitivities and environmental toxins from their food, personal care products, and home. It also incorporates essential lifestyle changes that directly support two thyroid-impacting regulatory hormones:cortisol and insulin.

An Alkaline Diet and Lifestyle

An alkaline diet and lifestyle are a core component of the SHE-TO program and a key difference from strictly ketogenic diets. Achieving an alkaline pH is essential because ketogenic diets that only focus on being in ketosis can cause the body to become too acidic, leading to inflammation and hindering weight loss. On the other hand, an alkaline diet can help reduce inflammation, balance hormones, and promote overall health benefits. This is why the program emphasizes an overall net alkaline-producing diet and recognizes the impact of non-dietary elements on achieving this balance.

Removing Inflammatory Food Sensitivities

Most ketogenic diets focus on lowering gluten intake but do not require the removal of other inflammatory foods like gluten, dairy, sugar, and processed foods. The SHE-TO program takes a different approach and encourages women to remove these foods to reduce inflammation and achieve better health outcomes. Participants are also encouraged to reduce their intake of alcohol and caffeine, at least temporarily, to reset their bodies.

Removing Environmental Toxins

Many ketogenic diets do not consider the impact of environmental toxins from food, personal care products, and the home. The SHE-TO program recognizes that removing these toxins can play a crucial role in achieving alkalinity and hormone balance, which is why this step is included in the program.

Lifestyle Changes for Cortisol and Insulin

Cortisol and insulin are hormones that directly impact the thyroid and are, therefore, critical to the SHE-TO program. The program incorporates lifestyle changes that support these hormones, including stress management and improving the quality and quantity of sleep. Stress management is crucial because cortisol can effectively brake digestion, immune processes, and thyroid metabolism, making it difficult to get into ketosis. Improving sleep quality and quantity is essential because circadian rhythm plays an important role in hormone production and overall health and mood.

The SHE-TO diet and lifestyle program is a unique approach to ketogenic diets that address women's challenges and focuses on building a healthy foundation. By incorporating an alkaline diet and lifestyle, removing inflammatory food sensitivities, removing environmental toxins, and making lifestyle changes to support cortisol and insulin, the program helps women achieve better health outcomes and weight loss goals.

Healing Adrenals and Stress Response with Adaptogens

Adrenals play a crucial role in our overall health and well-being, as they are responsible for producing hormones and helping us to manage stress. However, excessive stress can cause adrenal burnout, which can lead to a range of health problems. This is why managing stress and supporting your adrenals is essential, especially if you are dealing with other health issues, such as thyroid disease.

Addressing Gut Dysfunction in Thyroid Disease

Gut dysfunction is a common problem for those with thyroid disease, making it challenging to get the nutrition and support you need. To address this, it is essential to focus on probiotics, digestive enzymes, and natural detoxification strategies, which helps in improving gut health and support your thyroid. A ketogenic diet can be challenging to adhere to without this foundation and may not provide optimal results.

The SHE-TO Method: A Modified Ketogenic Plate

The SHE-TO Method is a slightly modified ketogenic diet focusing on clean, organic foods with a specific emphasis on healthy fats and proteins. This method also includes slow-burning carbs, such as green veggies, to provide fiber and support alkalinity. The SHE-TO Method is designed to provide 20-35 grams of carbs per day, and it includes intermittent fasting in a way that does not raise cortisol levels in the body.

The 80-20 Philosophy

The SHE-TO Method follows an 80-20 philosophy, where women aim to stay in the SHE-TO Method 80% of the time, fast 10% of the time, and feast 10% of the time. This approach provides the benefits of ketosis while allowing for flexibility and the occasional treatment.

Supporting Thyroid Health with the SHE-TO Method

The SHE-TO Method considers the specific concerns that those with thyroid disease may have with a traditional ketogenic diet. By addressing gut health, incorporating healthy fats and proteins, and using intermittent fasting in a way that does not raise cortisol levels, the SHE-TO Method provides a balanced approach to supporting thyroid health and managing stress.

KETO AND THYROID

The concerns about the effect of a typical ketogenic diet on thyroid disease are few and based on limited research. Despite this, there are some concerns that a small number of thyroid experts have raised.

T3 Levels

The most significant concern is whether a typical ketogenic diet can lower T3 levels to an unhealthy extent. While research has shown that a ketogenic diet has benefits such as controlling blood sugar spikes and reducing insulin levels, too little insulin can also affect the liver's ability to produce T3 from T4. The question then becomes if this is truly a problem or just a physiological adaptation that the body needs to adjust to. This decrease in T3 levels is also seen in calorie-restricted diets. However, if TSH levels do not increase and the person continues to feel well, this is considered a more meaningful measure. In SHETO METHOD PROGRAM, the TSH levels have gone down to optimal ranges, and T3 levels have increased due to the anti-inflammatory, blood-sugar balancing, adrenal supporting, hormone balancing, and liver detox benefits of a low-carb diet.

Hashimoto's

Another concern is that many people with the hypothyroid disease, particularly Hashimoto's, have carbohydrate metabolism disorders. Several studies have shown that people with thyroid disorders feel better on a low-carb diet. Participants in a program following a low-carb diet have reported improvement in their thyroid numbers.

Also talking about the spiritual aspect, thyroid is located in throat chakra which is the communication center. Many women have lost their voice due to fear and society conditioning. We also work on the emotional and mental causes to restore health in the body.

This is what I have seen with the participants in my program. What I have seen is that by doing the foundational work mentioned above that they do well with the keto piece, and that thyroid numbers have actually improved. Here are just a few examples.

OVERCOMING HYPOTHYROIDISM WITH TRUHEALING PROTOCOL SHE-TO METHOD

PALLAVI’s STORY

You can check out her story on our youtube channel: https://youtu.be/oZE4aSYvZYs

Before getting enrolled in the TruHealing program, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and felt tired, homocysterine level was high, and had pre-diabetic range blood reports.

After joining the TruHealing program under guidance of Dr. Disha, I could see lot of improvement in myself like able to reduce weight naturally by following a healthy diet. At the same time, thyroid, homocysterine, etc. was also under control which made me more energetic and gave me a feeling of being healthy.

I was able to conceive naturally before completion of the program in around 3 months into the program. I had an uncomplicated healthy pregnancy where I was able to continue my office along with household chores until the 3rd trimester under Dr. Disha's special care.

I am blessed with a healthy beautiful baby. I was able to produce enough milk, started to loose weight immediately after delivery along with a great mood...no baby blues!! It is possible to heal the hormone imbalances and have a beautiful pregnancy and healthy baby. I am sharing my experience to inspire other ladies who may be struggling with such issues but don't know where to go. TruHealing is the way to go.

OVERCOMING AUTOIMMUNE THYROID HASHIMOTO WITH TRUHEALING PROTOCOL SHE-TO METHOD

ASHA MENON’s STORY

You can check out her story on our youtube channel: https://youtu.be/rP1LIE_BmLg

I met Dr Disha in March 2018 through a recommendation by my relative. At that point I had practically visited a good share of gynaecs in Pune and Bangalore, and hence was slightly at the dejected end, as all my reports showed normal but I still couldn’t conceive. When I was curious to know why, every doctor either had no answer or gave me vague conclusion that my pregnancy would depend on a ‘lot’ of factors. Somehow, telling me that IUI and IVF were my only options didn’t help!

But it was a totally different story with Dr. Disha. The first thing I was in awe with was her confidence that I will be able to conceive naturally, through her program, and that too, in one year! She immediately diagnosed that I was having an autoimmune problem due to which my TPO antibodies were on a high, which none of the other doctors determined or even considered a possibility. Dr. Disha’s program is an investment in your health. Although it requires a lot of effort from the patient, if it is followed 100 percent, to the T - which could be slightly daunting over the months, the best part is - it works like a charm.

You just need to stick to the food, lifestyle and the supplements as prescribed by her! I started out with my TPO at 521 before her program, when the healthy count should be under 5. One year down the line I now stand at 54 - a number I felt I could never even come close to when I started of. What’s even better, is that I could conceive naturally and I am in my third trimester expecting my little one soon in the most natural way with no synthetic hormones, antibiotics or other measures.

So, thank you Dr Disha and Truhealing for helping me through this journey and helping my body work as it should.

 Wishing you robust thyroid health!

Dr.Disha.
